Excellent embryo culture conditions and high pregnancy rates at the Institute of Life in IASO!
The Institute of Life – IASO is one of the largest and most advanced Assisted Reproduction Centers in Europe, which was established in IASO, the leading Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic in Greece. In its modern facilities, the most advanced technology is used and innovative treatments and techniques are applied.
Combining, the state-of-the-art embryological laboratory with the most sophisticated embryo monitoring systems, with the excellent scientific staff, the Institute of Life – IASO , is able to provide the best in modern medicine in this field, Success rates.
By using the RI Witness system, the most useful, more sophisticated and necessary Assisted Reproductive Technology Management (ART) management system in the field of biomedical technology provides the safeguards, monitors and records the effort at every step of the process, Thus providing the necessary confidence to couples.
In order to monitor in real time the smooth operation of incubators and other important machines, we installed the Log & Guard logging and control system in the embryology and cryopreservation laboratory.
It is a machine connected to the laboratory’s central office, which records and monitors all laboratory conditions 24/7, 7 days a week. System monitoring can be done by responsible embryologists even when they are not in the laboratory premises with the help of any computer or mobile phone connected to the internet.
How does it work:
High precision sensors and thermometers are placed in the laboratory area, that is to the incubators in which the embryos are grown and the cryopreserved embryos are stored.
In this way, they are recorded and monitored:
- The concentration of CO2 gas in the incubators,
- Temperatures in the laboratory environment, temperatures in incubation furnaces and cryopreserved genetic material storage containers
- PH levels of culture liquids
- Moisture levels in the laboratory environment
- Organic particle (VOC) levels in the laboratory area.
If one of these factors changes, a signal is given to the embryologists and technicians of the unit sending SMS to their mobile phones in order to act to restore the conditions as soon as possible.
This ensures complete control for the smooth and uninterrupted operation of the laboratory and achieves excellent embryo culture conditions and high pregnancy rates.
During the process of IVF, the monitoring and evaluation of the embryos being developed is an integral part of the laboratory routine.
This process involves disturbing the incubation conditions, removing the embryos from the incubator and observing them under the microscope.
With the implementation of Time-Lapse, a video-monitoring of preimplantation embryos, at the MIAA Institute of Life, we are able to monitor the smooth development of embryos without disturbing their stable incubation conditions.
Furthermore, on the basis of morphokinetic parameters, the embryos with the highest probability of implantation are selected.
